ALS Fundraiser

Two weeks ago, I was honored to perform magic at an ALS San Diego fundraiser held at the beautiful Bahia Hotel in Mission Bay. This event was deeply personal for me, as my own brother passed away from ALS four years ago. During his illness, the ALS Society provided incredible support and compassionate assistance to my family, especially during his hospice care. At that time, I promised the organization that I would one day return the kindness by helping to raise funds for this critical cause, free of charge. It was a privilege to finally fulfill that promise.
Over the years, I've participated in dozens of fundraising events, but this one truly stood out. The organizers at ALS San Diego planned an exceptionally well-coordinated and inspiring evening. It was heartwarming to connect with families and friends who have also been touched by ALS, sharing stories of resilience, hope, and mutual support. Several individuals affected by ALS attended, and witnessing their courage firsthand was profoundly moving.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of awards to individuals and groups who have made significant contributions to ALS awareness and fundraising. The heartfelt acceptance speeches reminded everyone present why this cause is so vital.
I am grateful to have been a part of such an impactful evening and to have contributed my talents to honor my brother's memory. Let's continue to raise awareness, support research, and offer comfort to families affected by ALS.
Magically, Dana
